Dell Axim X3 Pocket PC 2003 Companion CD is "freezing" up during installation
Attemping to install the "Dell Axim X3 Pocket PC 2003 Companion CD" on a Dell Lattitude D600 Laptop. Operating System is Windows 2000 with all windows updates applied.

I put in the "Companion CD" and it autoruns. On the first screen where you normally see a picture of a lady and the words "Getting Started with Your Pocket PC", all I see is the lady. I can click on the "right arrow" icon on this screen and then I get a pure white background in the installation window.

I have tried another "Companion CD", CD module in the laptop, the same hard drive in another laptop shell and I get the same symptoms. I can take the "Companion CD(s)" to another laptop and it acts correctly. I can put in another CD, ex: Microsoft Office and it starts to install just fine on the in question.

So, I believe it is some setting or parameter screen in Windows. So far I am stumped.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would prefer not to reload the operating system, and other applications. The installation CD is all that is not working correctly.

Thanks for you time and options to try.

Whoa...that's a doozy! The Latitude D series is a new line and should have no troubles with the Axims. I would contact Dell Technical Support on that one.
