one of the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned
I get this error message when I connect my X3 to my computer with the USB cradle. I can plug the same X3 into the same USB port with the sync cable, and it works. No go with the cradle. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Two thoughts.

Have you tried different ports on your computer to plug the cradle in? Also try on another computer if possible.

If both those ideas fail, i'd say you have a bad cradle.

Yes, I have tried it on multiple USB ports, and the sync cable works on ports that the cradle does not. I'll take the cradle to work tomorrow and try it there. Thanks.

Tried the cradle at work today, but still got the same results. I have an XP station at home and Win98 at work. Didn't work on either one. Got the unknown device error on both systems. Guess I'll schedule a day of vacation so I can spend it on the phone with Dell's tech support.
