X3i and Targus IR Keyboard

Does anyone know if the Targus Universal IR keyboard works with Axim X3i. I have tried removing updating, re-installing the driver but it still does'nt work on my x3i/PPC2003.

Any help/solution would be much appreciated.

As far as I know of, no...only the External Foldable keyboard works currently with the Axims. IrDA is strictly used for data transfer, however... I believe Bluetooth keyboards will work on them (with the Bluetooth CF or SDIO adapter of course), but I've never heard them being tried yet.

I haven't used the Targus IR. I think I have read that it does work with the Axims, if you download the newest drivers from their site.

I can tell you that I have used the ThinkOutside/Stowaway IR keyboard with my Axim X3i. It worked fine.

You shouldn't have a problem. Search through the site for Targus keyboard or IR keyboard or Wireless Keyboard and you'll find some other threads that deal with your question.

I have tried everything like upgrading to the latest driver and re-installing, but to no avail.
Does anyone know who is the OEM for Targus Universal IR keyboard, so I can try their driver as well.

Hey I just installed the Targus IR KB on my x3i and it did not work at all with the drivers included on the CD. I got the latest drivers from www.targus.com/support.asp and now it is working great!

Actually, there are several IR keyboards that users of this forum have successfully used with the Axim. I personally use the MicroInnovations model.

Yes!! They finally updated the drivers. The keyboard now works.
