Patch Rom update but still shows A00

I did the Dell update Rom patch for the Dell Axim x3i, but when I go to System Information it still shows as A00 (file says its A01). I can't reinstall it, as it thinks its there.

Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks!

I have read in other posts that the patch does not change the ROM number as it is not a complete ROM update, only a patch. Search the forum and you will find numerous other posts about this.

Doing some more digging and wondering if this patch was for the x3 and not the x3i.

Ugh

As brobinson stated, it is simply a software patch and does not update the actual ROM image on your Axim. So the ROM version will still show up at A00. If you were to hard reset your Axim, then you would still have to reinstall the patch. Where with a true ROM update, the ROM is overwritten when you do the update......so it will still be there even after a hard reset.

And yes, the patch is for the X3i.

X3i patch - still A00

Yeah, also note that Dell support is dumb as rocks when it comes to help on this issue. They keep telling you to download the patch again and keep thinking you have Activesync issues. Basically, they don't read what you send in or are too incompetent to understand it. Thanks to this site I now know that its normal to still see A00 in the sysinfo after the patch is applied.
