PIE Problems
I have had my Axim x3i for nearly a month now, and I have had nothing but great experiences. However, a few nights ago I was lying in bed surfing the Internet when my Pocket Internet Explorer and my Axim locked up. I performed the soft reset and re-enabled my wifi. I had no such luck on getting PIE to work. I kept getting “Page Cannot Load” from my PIE.

My first assumption from all of the negativity I read regarding the Axim made me question my purchase. I did tons of research including browsing the forums here to see if anyone else had experienced the same problems. Low and behold many have had connection failures with PIE not working after having several weeks of un-interrupted web surfing enjoying. I did everything I could get my PPC working again with PIE.

Facts:
>WiFi still connecting to the Internet
>PIE not loading pages

Actions:
>Numerous Soft Resets performed
>Numerous WiFi Reconfigurations
>Reset Cable Modem and Router
>Research Knowledge Base on the Internet

Before performing the Hard Reset, I decided to test one more thing and that was to see if I could get any other programs working that utilize the WiFi. I loaded AOL Instant Messenger and starting chatting away with friends.

This leads me to believe there is something wrong with PIE and not my Axim! This is great news, because I was ready give Dell the Axe. I performed the Hard Reset reloaded all of my software and I was once again flying on the Internet.

So, after my headache of wifi troubles would agree that I am “mostly” correct in my assumption that PIE is the culprit and not my Axim? Do you think a program such as NF v3.0 would be a great alternative to web browsing? I really do not want to have to Hard Reset ever again and reconfigure my PPC or is Hard Resetting a way of PPC Life.

you might try to clear temp files in PIE next time before a hard reset. After a lot of surfing, you can really free up some extra space in memory.

I did that as well... as a matter of fact that was the second think I did after a soft reset. I guess I should have posted it, being a relatively trival step to fixing Desktop IE Problems I did not =(.

I get some of the same "page not found" messages when I'm connected and someone is on the 2.4GHtz cordless phone. Haven't quite gotten that worked out yet.
