Mic problems recording

Hi all,

Just acquired an X3i recently. While playing with my new toy, I stumble across this problem. After I record any voice msg/note, during playback it comes out very soft (quiet). During the play back I can hear a buzzing noise..
I know there is a microphone setting in the "Settings" menu. played with it a bit but still no luck.

FYI. I was speaking into the mic when I did the recordings.

Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

Well I have an x5 and had & still have the same problem. Previous posts have suggested trying different app's but nothing really seems to work for me that well either!

Thank you for the reply Bernie.

I gave it another try last night. and I got it working! :) By turning on the "Sounds & Notification" (from "Settings") I was able to use the Recorder..! the playback sound was crisp and clear, all the buzzing noise is gone. You can give it a try. Here's what I did.

go to --> Settings --> System --> Sound & Notification

Check off the box beside "Program" and click "OK"
(This is the only box that's checked off, all the other boxes are NOT checked off)

Now go back to sound recorder and give it a try. It should work. :p

*Note* from my observation this Recording/Mic problem is a software (sound driver) issue. I don't believe there's anything wrong with the Mic itself. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Lastly, I have a X3i. Cheers! ;)

If I press the record button to launch the recording program (NoteM), the mic works fine. If I remain in NoteM and try to record again, the mic barely picks up anything. The only way I can get a successful recording is to use the switcher bar to completely exit the program and then launch it again with the record button (mapped to NoteM).

I have tried the suggestions above.

Any other suggestions?
