Hi--

New to this forum. Just bought my wife an Axim X3i to replace her Sony Clie which was dying.

So far, she loves it, except for one little thing: it's frozen up on her 4-5 times in the past week, no stylus or button response, requiring a soft reset to recover.

Once it's reset, it works fine, no data loss.

These lockups have happened while she's been working in the following programs: Pocket Outlook, Pocket IE, or Jawbreaker. I saw on the Dell support site that this is a possible issue with Jawbreaker.

But I know of at least two times that Jawbreaker was *NOT* running, yet the X3i still locked up.

Anyone else seen this sort of problem, or did we get a lemon?? As far as I can tell, there's no downloadable patches or fixes out for PPC 2003.

I did have this problem when my device was new, I downloaded a ROM update and that seemed to fix the problem (or I just got lucky). Might be worth a try!
I've posted the UK address, but you may find it easier to go to a local site (I don't know where you are!). This update is for the X3 and I don't know if it's the same for the X3i. Might be worth checking with Dell before you download!

Thanks Jogga. Found the ROM update on the US Dell site. Will install it tonight at home and see if that helps.
