X3i taking a dump

I mostly use my X3i as a MP3 player. About two days ago, it would begin to freeze up when WMP was being used. After MANY soft and a few hard resets, it still persists. It is very unpredictable. It will freeze up instantly once, soft reset, then it will cause the song to sound like a skipping CD, soft reset, then it plays fine for a while then freezes. I haven't uploaded any Kazaa type MP3s (illegal) and it really got bad after i uploaded some tunes I downloaded from walmart.com. Any help for me?

Are the tunes on storage card? What happens if you remove the storage card and try to play the songs directly from the memory??

tried that, ran fine for awhile, even through multitasking, then it froze. If I go and try to end the wmp program on the settings/memory, it won't let me end it. frustrating! I have also had to deactivate my activesync because after the hard reset, my computer does not recognize my device.

Try using another media player like PocketMVP.

Just make a new name when you connect to your PC and it will upload all old stuff from your other name.

You might also try setting the processor speed to max. Just a thought, but you did say you where muilty tasking.

After 4 weeks, my 3i started to lockup. Despite repeated soft and hard resets, it never worked properly. Dell sent me a replacement unit by Fedex. Got the replacement and all is well so far. I suspect that your unit needs replacement.
