Ack! My Ax is leaking!!!!
cr@p! Okay, not sure what to call it, but after wiping/cleaning the screen of my X3i, I can see what seems to be a liquid "puddle" in the middle of screen.

It follows around my styli when I point, and drag it. So, base from that, I say that's it's some kind liquid (LCD?) that "leaked".

It's not quite visible looking at it straight on, but on a angle I can see the "puddle" moving. And since now I know that it's there, I can barely do anything, and not think that it's there.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

And I just want one thing out of the way. I wiped this thing very gently with plain water, and old cotton cloth. So I really don't believe that I pressed too hard on the screen.

Thanks!

What you have in your screen is morrie, do a search on this for palm handheld. There is a way to massage the screen, but I don't remember the proper procedure. I even think I saw it on this forum.

Oh, okay. Thanks!

Is that how you spell it? Or is it moire?

Anyone know where I can find that link, or tell me how to do get rid of it...

Thanks!

Okay, I did a little search and found the thread where they're talking about the moire problem.

And that's what basically I'm talking about. I'll see if it will go away soon....

Thanks!

____________

Your "watermark" isn't water at all, its a moire pattern (a visiual interference pattern) being generated between the two plastic layers of the digitizer. Between these two layers is a gel, when any kind of pressure is put upon the screen over a large area, this gel is displaced a bit and the two layers are forced closer together, allowing the creation of the moire pattern. On my Axim it looks a lot like an irregular "island" of a Mandelbrot Set, usually longer top to bottom, approximately in the center of the screen.

This happens to me occasionally when the foam lining of my PocketSolutions CoverUp is squeezed against my screen. It will normally clear itself up (you can actually see the pattern getting smaller).

If it is a bit more persistent, you can gently "massage" the screen with your thumbs from the outer edge towards the center, to redistribute the gel more quickly. Click the links above for more information.

Sorry about the spelling, I depend too much on the IE spell checker.
