If you know you are connecting because your e-mail and instant message works then there is a simple fix.

Make sure you are getting a 192.xxx.xxx.xxx in your status software - if so you are good - if you get a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx you are not talking to your router.

If you have the 192.xxx IP address and can connect, the way to fix PIE is go to file explorer > my device>windows> scroll to welcome.exe - tap it to re-set your AX - like when new - this is not a soft reset - it just re-sets PIE and no-one here can say why but it just works.

This works only if everything else works but PIE - it fixes PIE.

This discussion at Pocket PC Thoughts provides some suggestions.

The weird thing is why it occurs so frequently with the X3i. I doubt that very few of the users with problems actually deleted the files they discuss which makes me think something in the X3 corrupts one or more of the files.

Ike - and I have the X5 so who knows what causes this- must be related to the DELL version of PPC or something.

I am still having problems with my X5(wm2003). I know I have talked some with ike already. I am trying to connect to my work's network, but I when I try to load a webpage, I get the same "this page not found" that so many other people are getting. I already tried the welcome.exe, but it did not work.

I am using a Dell True Mobile cf card. The Dell Client that comes with the driver has a link that says, "Edit Wireless Profiles." When you follow the link, it takes you to a page that is titled, "Configure Wireless Networks" Under the title is a box that contains all of the wireless networks. In the box, it shows that I am connected to my work's network. When I click on the network name, it takes me to a screen where you can adjust the settings. (sorry for the description, I don't have the screen shot software yet)

Next to the "Connects to:" there is a box that contains two options, The Internet and Work. For some reason, I cannot change this setting. Do I have to delete the network, and start from scratch to change my setting from The Internet to Work. Everything else is set to work, but this.

Sorry, I am new to wifi and networks. Please help if you can.
