I have two X3's with Socket Com sdio wifi cards. We recently upgraded to a Wireless G router and now we cannot connect with the Axim anymore. The router is a Netgear WGB511 and is backwards compatible with 802.11b and is set in the router settings to accept b and g connections.

the router sees the wireless network but does not connect to the network. I have put the SSID code in several times it will say connecting but then drop the connection.

Any Ideas?

Have you tried shutting off all your wireless devices, reatarting the router, and then connecting everything one at a time. Had something similar happen with my router. For some reason, it did not want to connect If other wireless devices were trying to connect as it was turning on. Sounds odd, but it worked for me.

Also, are you sure you are putting in the correct WEP code? I would try re-entering the code into your router to make sure you entered it correctly there. You might have hit one wrong key when entering it in the router which would then cause nothing to connect with the code you have.

i know the ssid is correct i have put it in a bunch of times even changed it on the router to see if that worked.

I'll try rebooting and connecting when no other devices are on in the office.

the wireless card will connect to my network at home but it just wont connect to the G at work ( i have b at home)

I have X3i w/ linksys G.. it works fine....

did u set your router to mixed mode so it will allow both G and B to connect?

yes it is set to mixed mode but still no connection.

it can see the network but cannot connect to it in the connections screen.

off topic I got NYDITOT last night that program is way cool!!
