uh oh... A memory error has been detected
Ive had my X3 less than 4 months, and have been using it daily every since. ..mostly for appointments and reminders and such.

Today, out of the blue, I went to turn it on and it wouldn't power up. So, I put it in the cradle and instantly received this error message:

"... A memory error has been detected. Press [Contacts] to correct the error. If the system does not boot, press [Power]+[Reset] to clear all data in the memory and reboot the system ..."

So, I pressed button #2 [Contacts], and then got this message:

"... Warning - Battery power lost! The system has entered sleep mode. Data loss might have occured ..."

A quick check of my battery level showed only 1% remaining.

It's NEVER been that low - my unit spends most of its time in the cradle and is only out occasionally.

Today however, I had it out of the cradle, & I had set a calendar reminder that I was expecting an important call - and as it turned out, I missed the reminder. Could the Outlook "popup" have been activated and remained on the entire time? ... until it drained the battery?

If so, it's the first time I've ever seen this behavior....

As I'm typing this, the battery is in fact charging and is already up around 25% already....

How do I prevent this from happening again??

If you don't have your device set to automatically turn off after a certain amount of time, it will definately drain the battery. Has happened to me more than once!

That's just it, I DO have it set to turn off (on battery power) after 5 minutes - even on external power I have it set to turn off in 15 min....

point is, it didn't turn off...
