Display has Inverted Colors
For no apparent reason, the display of my Axim X3 has developed an odd display problem.

Neither a Soft nor a Hard reset fixed the problem and Dell is sending a replacement unit.

Literally, the display is like a negative. The unit shows a white screen and then turns on slowly, but the colors are incorrect. The data was intact, but the display malfunctioned. Additionally, the screen exhibits trails. Most peculiar!

Dell mentioned, not by name, that certain Today Screen rotation/changing programs could be the culprit for display problems, but his is something that is highly unusual.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I use one of those programs and never had a display problem.

If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like ‘Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!’ and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, ‘That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice.’ Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.

Are you sure it was the screen and not something you had been smoking?

It was Saturday morning, so it may have only been the banana peels that I smoked for breakfast.

Seriously, it has nothing to with my physical/mental state of being or my impaired visual/motor skills or lack thereof.

The anomaly, or unit malfunction is quite real, albeit, looking surreal.

I would have guessed it was more of something in the hardware, since the hard reset did not fix it. There might be something that sets the display to negative, but I'd guess that was in the registry, which is cleared in a hard reset.
It more sounds like a crossing of lines for the different colors that are output to the screen.
Dell really doesn't do any analysis of problems since the Axim is considered a single replaceable part. They don't do anything with the insides or even the outsides. To rapair an Axim , they just replace it.

Sounds kind of cool though. Do you have any screen shots?
