Dell sent a replacement X3i for my 10-day-old one. I was unhappy with the WiFi connection success rate and it ended up having an audio problem as well. Dell was fair to work with.

Got the replacement overnighted, charged it up and Voila! It connects 9 of out 10 times on the first attempt. I can live with this! Not perfect, but close enough. It has the "same" A01 version as my first unit. So I feel good about this purchase - but I still think Dell ought to get it 100% right in their next ROM release - their competitors have.

So, for any of you that have been putting up with less-than-stellar WiFi performance and you are certain it's not your WiFi network, send it back. The more users that do this the sooner Dell will get a better ROM out to the rest of us.

I also received a replacement that was a bit better. However it still would not connect as much as it should. I finally decided to replace my Microsoft Wireless router MN-700 with a D-Link DI-624. The Axim now connects every single time.
