Dell freebies

Well after three attemps to get a wroking x3i. I finally have one.

each time a replacement has been sent , dell only want the unit back , so now i have

3 batteries, (great - needed)
3 stylus ,- look good in the cradle , and may lose one, one day
3 cradels - i think ill ebay 2
3 dell cases - uhmm
3 power packs ( one for cradel and one for travel)

so only 1 month of no pda got me over £100 over extras.

Right now to start using the pda.

Wow, they sent you whole new kits each time?? Not a refurb unit??

When I had an issue, they sent me a refurbished one, with the stylus, and no battery (they included instructions to swap your existing battery into the refurb unit they sent you).

I also gone thru 2 Axim before finally settling with the 3rd one.

Dell sent me a brand new replacement everytime (minus the USB cradle).

The first one I returned, I included everything back except for the USB cradle (which wasn't included in replacement anyway), but I kept the battery.

The second one I returned, I kept the battery again, and I also kept the AC adapter...

Here's my free stuff so far:

3 batteries
2 AC adapter

returned items: stylus, leather case, CD.

I only bought a the unit new, and it didnt work so i stated that i wanted a new unit not refurbished one.

As for the extras I spoke to dell and they said only to send back the unit , and to keep the battery etc.

Really i only bought the wifi version( non bluetooth version) and each time i am sent the blue tooth extra.

I think its just a case of picking a box of the self

while now down to install programs.

i am going to return my x3i that i have had for under 30 days, the wifi is not working correctly and the range is horrible, i understand that this is a major problem with some of them, will they send me a whole new x3i? including the cradle and all? just wondering..

That is my experiance in the Uk , but the offical line is that you keep the extra and just return the base unit. And they replace the unit only.

However I have returned my 2 times and now have 3 of everthing ( except pda just one).

No harm, along as you get a working unit and anything else is a bonus.

They will send you everything except for the USB cradle.

Brand new in my case...

Interested in selling one of those freebie batteries? Really needed for a trip next month as all i have is a X3 950mah.

This battery is £25 brand new and since it has not been used I would want to sell at least £15+ and with the higher dollar, it wont be less than $25. Then shipping included. so not really worth your while.

Also 3 is quite a good amount,one in unit and 2 spare. I also have a 1.5 day bus trip to spain so all batteries are needed to fit the boredom.

I to use the 950 as the extended wont fit my case also.

I am sure ebay will have them at a good price.
