Lost Built-In storage (Solved)

Has anyone ever had this happen? I was looking using Total Commander and I was surprised to see that my storage was gone. I soft reseted but to no avail.

I did full backup to my PC and then I did a hard reset and it was back!

The reason I am posting this is if anyone was having the same issue could have some reassurance that they don't have to send their PDA back to Dell as many of the other older threads had said.

I had a similar problem and found that a hard reset resurrected it.

Did anyone found out yet, how/why it happens? I know it happens to me one time, while uninstalling something, and found out the hard way to bring it back (hard reset) of course...

Yeah I lost my Built-In memory the other day too. Thought it was kind of weird. Did a hard reset and it was back to normal.

This happened to me today. Lost my BIS upon soft reset. After soft resetting a few more times to no avail I started to do a hard reset but then pushed the "envelope button" (X3i) to cancel it. When it booted up it had found the BIS, after soft resetting again it still sees it.

So, if you don't want to do a hard reset try that trick and see if it helps.

That same thing happened to me (yesterday) and did what you said... but today I lost my BIS again, and after multiple hard and soft resets and even restoring the rom TWICE!!! still no BIS, so did a search on google and found this.... any ideas on what I should do? Will Dell replace the unit? Thanks.

I had this happen to me, I posted about it, but I'll post what I did here to help you.

Do a Hard Reset and when the screen asks you to press the contacts button to confirm the Hard Reset of the Mail button to cancel the Hard Reset, choose to cancel the Hard Reset by pressing the Mail button.

If your BIS is still missing, then you'll need to go ahead and do a Full Hard Reset. That did the trick for me.

Best of Luck. :approve:

This has only happened to me when I uninstalled a select few apps from BIS. Seems as though the apps uninstaller decided to take the entire BIS away as opposed to it's program folder. A restore of my most recent Sprite Backup restored the folder. I know one of the apps was the free HP PPC Printing utility, not 100% sure what the others were.

I have had the same thing happen, lose BIS for no specific reason. I don't remember how I got it back, I'm sure I didnt do a hard reset though. Just today I lost my storage card for no reason, soft reset and got it back. Weird stuff.

This is terrible. I have lost my built-in storage twice within one week, both after uninstall some apps from built-in storag. Only hard reset can recover it.

My 128mb lexar sd card has been formatted by x30(not by me) twice within one week and lost all data.

Come on, there is no safe space in x30 at all.

I hate this garbage.

I lost my build-in storage a couple of times since i got my x3i and the only way i could restore it was to do a hard reset.
i didn't loose my storage again since i installed the rom update to A02, maybe the update fixes the problem.... I just installed it like a week ago so i'm not really sure about this.
