CPU utilization goes 100% when syncing Inbox

In the past few days several of our employees have complained of very high utilization on their WinXP desktops. Upon further investigation we find 100% CPU utilization and the item listed in Task Manager as the culprit is wcesmgr.exe. As soon as we stop that service all is fine, until we reconnect the Axim. So, we found that if we eliminated the Inbox from the list of items being sync'd all is fine. I've seen this happen to two of our Axims in one week. We have 5 other people with Axims that aren't experiencing this problem, including myself.

What gives? Anyone else run into this?

We use WinXP Pro for all desktops.

PS. Regarding the memory going first...I don't remember the answer.

Do you use symantec antivirus? Some people complained of issues with a certain version of activesync and symantec causing issues with that process. Try updating your av software and activesync.

Nope, we use McAfee ASAP anti-virus. Given that we use it for all machines and this is happening only on two that wouldn't seem to be a likely prospect.

check in microsoft.public.pocketpc .It sounds like an Activesync or Outlook issue and not specific to the Axim. Is Outlook open b4 you sync? Is the personal folders backup utility installed?
