Odd screen issue....is this normal?

Picked up a used X3i today, and am very happy with it, except for an odd issue with the screen. On stuff like images, or any area of the screen with large patches of solid colors, I can see lines cutting through it rapidly, almost making the image seem to "shimmer", kind of like a crt monitor if you set the refresh rate too low. Its especially easy to notice in microsoft reader, with the solid red areas. Is this normal for the axim, or what?

Sounds like it might be time for a new display. I would not say that's normal.

I'd say it depends - mine has had a barely noticeable shimmer from Day #1, especially when viewed under artficial light - which probably relates to the fact that AC power where I am is 50Hz, so just be aware - the ambient lighting can cause certain effects.
