White Screen of Death

Does anyone know what causes this? About 2 days ago out of the blue I get the WSOD!! The LCD is brand new (A replacement from pdasmart.com) I have not dropped my axim or anything. I tried a soft reset and Hard reset, battery out for hours, battery in and fully charged, and still nothing. I contacted Dell, but since they had a previous record of the screen being cracked they wont honor my warranty which is not complete care. I purchased the axim off ebay with t he cracked LCD which I had replaced. Everything worked fine for about 2 months until the other day. I even put my cracked screen back in to see if the problem was with the axim or the LCD itself. It's definitley the LCD as I was able to get a picture with the cracked screen.

Does the new screen come with a warranty?

Probably out of luck then. I'd contact PDASmart anyway, they may have some ideas to help you troubleshoot it.

Just because it doesn't have a warranty doesn't mean you can't report it DOA.

.
.

DOA after 2 months would be stretching it a bit.

I'd say call pdasmarts anyway, as mentioned, keeping in mind you apparently bought it without warranty, but maybe they'l still do something since a "normal" warranty on things is at least 90 days.

Worth a shot. But you might just have a drink coaster/paper weight for your desk.........or $30-$40 bucks from someone looking for parts.

If you replaced the display yourself, you could try reseating the display and the cable(s) . . .

I've tried reseating the cables and everything. I even took apart the cracked screen piece by piece just to get a good idea of how it works. aside form the ribbon cable I dont see anything that could malfunction the LCD. I really want to solve this problem, because it seems that a pretty good amount of axim users end up having this problem, and it sucks to either end up with a paperweight or having to sell it and only make back probably 1/3 of what has been put into it after even a short while of having the device.
