You mean that Total Commander copies @ 900 KB/sec? Where are you trying to copy the File? I thought you were trying to copy it from your PC to your SD card.

Also, I don't think you will get USB 2 speeds with your SD card, it's not that fast, so USB2 won't be a benefit with your SD card.

I am not clear on exactly what you are doing,
if you are trying to copy a file on you Axim to a card in your Axim that might be a problem if the file is too big (not sure how big is too big though).

To see what you have as a card look at the card properties.

The best bet would be to put the card in a reader on your PC (No Axim involved at all).
If you copy everything to the PC, and format the card you should see how much memory the card actually is, and this will "defragment" the card when you put all the files back on the card.

I would also try to copy the 25 Meg file to the PC and then copy it to the memory card. If you have problems after all of this I think you have a hinkey card.

Sometimes there is a problem if you copy to the base folder e.g. C:\ for some reason you can only copy so many files to a base destination so you could try sending files to a folder eg C:\Music or something.

i was copying a 35 MB mp3 file from the pc to a subfolder on my axim with a card reader.

the problem is solved, the card reader was not connected directly butthrough a usb hub.

the copying is slow but i learned that the card may not be faster.

everything is fine, thank you all for the assistance, very very kind !

Yep, USB hubs can blotch things up, especially w/ ActiveSync. Glad you got to the root of the problem

I had this problem, too: I could only fill my 512MB card half full. I finally created a folder on the card and it let me use the rest of the card. Is there a size limit for a folder (or the root folder) on an SD card?
