Hi there,

I have problems with my Axim 3i, the well known problem with the bent pins on the connector. Hopefully, I can get warranty from Dell, allthough they are not reacting in a week time (Dell Europe).
In the mean time, I hope I can use my Axim, but I have to sync him with my computer. Active sync works with WIFI or bluetooth, but the first time, you have to sync him by the cradle. Is there any way to avoid this problem? Anyone???

hmm i wish i knew too it would be nice i have 3 pcs in my house and dont want to move the cradle to each one just to use active sync the first time

If you have the ability, you can also establish a Partnership via IR (infra Red)........or Serial, (but you would need a Serial Cradle/Sync Cable).

Have you tried it? How many pins are bent. I had about 3 or 4 bent on mine and the cradle still worked for charging or syncing. I always sync wi-fi but I tried the cradle after my pins were bent. I'm not sure what those outside pins are for?

yea i had 4 pins broke even pin 1 normaly the most inportant one and it worked fine till dell sent me a new one

I had an x3 300Mhz w/ bent pins and it wouldn't charge or sync. Dell sent me a refurbished x3 400Mhz to replace it.

I had the same problem with mine. I took it apart and straightened out the pins and now it works like a charm!!!

Hi All,

Here is my problem;

Looks like I have three broken pins on the left and one broken pin on the right. I am unable to active sync via the connector but I can charge my axim x3i via the connector. I was syncing everything via wireless connection without any problems.

However I upgraded my desktop machine and had to do a refresh install of active sync and I now cannot restablish a partnership between my pda and active sync. I don't a IR port either. Thus, I cannot re-establish a partnership between my desktop and pda.

Okay here is my question;

Are there any work-arounds to establish a partnership between Active sync on my desktop and pda via a wireless connection?
Any suggestion? Any ideas?
