To return or not to return...
I bought a axim x3 low-end about a year ago, and a few weeks ago, it stopped charging/syncing b/c of bent pins. Dell sent me a refurbished middle-end one to replace it, but the screen has a dead pixel. If I contact Dell about a replacement, will I risk getting a 300Mhz model?

ohmy. thats not good.

lets say that i do find a "acceptable" reason to return it; will I get a 400Mhz model, since I "own" a 400Mhz service tag, or will they know that I had a 300Mhz model, and send me what ever is on hand?

btw: I remember seeing "320x240 QVGA screen" in the ad, which is 76800 total pixels. A dead pixel means 76799 pixels, which, in my book, is a "manufacturing defect."

I have 66 days left on the warranty, maybe something else will go wrong.

Do you think I could get an answer from a Dell rep.?

Look, it's a gamble. YOu've already been issued a HIGHER model than the one you actually paid for. So if I were you, and nothing else is wrong with your current X3 Mid, I'd keep it and deal with the ONE dead pixel.

Don't get greedy. You've already gotten something for nothing. I'm sure you won't be nearly as lucky the next time around. And, as Mr.K stated: 1 Dead Pixel is acceptable by Dell's standards. But to be percise- 5 DEAD PIXELS ARE ACCEPTABLE! So Dell WILL NOT exchange your current Axim for 1 dead pixel.
