I would suggest trying betaplayer http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/ to see if the problem may be with your player. Also you may need to install DivX onto your Axim but it has been about a year since I first set mine up so I am not sure. Good Luck though.

I use a program called DVD to Pocket PC from http://www.makayama.com/dvdtopocketpc.html . It works great for me and I can use the Windows media player on my Axim to play the movie. Put the dvd in your pc, open the DVD to Pocket PC program and hit 1 button, wait 5 hours and you're done. I put a dvd in before I go to bed and wake up to another movie for my Axim. :)

PocketDivXEncoder produces *.AVI files. Windows Media Player will not read these, so do as balloonchasers says and use BetaPlayer which will.

DVDtoPocketPC produces *.WMV files which WMP will read. BetaPlayer should read them as well, but only if you download the correct codec.

BetaPlayer is a much better player than WMP because, among other things, it has a graphic equaliser and allows you to control brightness, contrast and saturation (color). You can also select the correct aspect ratio.

Do you know what codec I need to download to view wmv files on betaplayer?

I did download this file and installed it into my X3. It wiped out all the data in my X3 and this has never happened before. I had to reinstall all apps (big pain) to only try it again and have it not work. I am using version .90 and I used the .90 asf plug in.

Any suggestions???

i love pocketdivxencoder. gives you just enough features without getting too complex. any tweaking i want to do i use virtualdub.

pocketmvp is a good player. plays many different formats.

you could go an entirely different route and download windows media encoder 9 to encode in wmv format. there is even a default setting to encode to widescreen ppc. can't get much easier than that.
