Please help !! Guest problem.
My Axim X3i will only connect to ANY pc as a guest. I've tried on two computers via USB and a laptop via IR and the result is the same, only Guest partnership. I've done the hard reset, changed the name, taken out the battery, tried different versions of active sync 3.5 - 3.7.1, still the same issue. I tried in on a clean PC that has never had activesync installed and still the same problem ! I tried the dll registration, i even tried copying a profile from a different pc and naming it the same as the Axim, no luck. I removed my virus software (norton) stopped windows firewall (XP SP2) still nothing.
I've just about given up any other suggestions would be great. I'm really frustrated.
Please HEELLLLPPPP !!

Have you tried making sure that your Regional Settings on your ppc are reset to the original configuration? If you have a backup on your pc, reset your Regional Settings and you should be able to restore.

It may not, but you did ask for any suggestions!

If your Regional Settings are not what they were, either on your pc or ppc, the pc will not recognise the device and try to establish either a new partnership or a guest partnership. That's why I thought it may be the cause.

Hope you get it sorted.

THanks again , I read your suggestion of restoring the backup and thought it was a wrong post. Its a new PPC so i don't have any backups.
I did try changing the regional settings to different locations and trying the sync and still have the same issue. Seems with a hard rest the regional settings get set to default.

Thanks again, at this point I'm willing to try anything . Without sync capabilites the axim or any PDA is as good as a doorstop please keep the suggestions coming..

Here's my current config for reference: Win XP pro SP2, ActiveSync 3.7.1, Office 2003 SP1, Norton AV 2003
