Download Pocket Mechanic or Storge Tools. I prefer Pocket Mechanic . . . Either one will format SD cards. You can also format them using Windows if you have an SD Card reader/writer

The Axim will format the card if it is not formatted, but it does not have an adhoc format utility. Most cards that you buy ARE formatted though.

Deleting Data
If all you are trying to do is clean all of the data off of the card, you can "right-click" the card from File Explorer (hold the sylus down on the SD Card, CF Card or Built-in Storage until the menu pops up) and select delete. It will delete all of the data on the card and then return an error that it cannot delete the SD Card itself.

Best of luck!!

Use the FAT32 format. If you have a card reader available you can do it from your PC.

I was looking for a way to format and SD card too (newbie here) and found you can do this without installing another application (and possibly spending money for it). You can "right-click" the SD card from File Explorer (hold the sylus down on "Storage Card", and select "Format...". This will bring up a window called "Storage Card Format" This will allow you to format the SD card and also perform a quick format. Works well and doesn't require an extra application.
