Trouble turning on/off and ROM update
Since several weeks i have the a problem with my Axim X3. At the beginning it happend every few days, now it's almost always:

When (manually or automatically) turning off the X3 it can't be turned on anymore with the regular button. I need to press the soft-reset to bring it back to life.

I removed the SD card: same problem
I removed the battey and used the adapter: same problem
I hard-resetted it: All data lost, but same problem

The problem started right after my one year warranty was over. Dell Support was not able to help much (when finally reached after several mails and long premium-rate-phonecalls):
- they proposed a ROM update from A00 to A01 -> this didn't work, after a reset it still shows the old ROM Version
- A repair by Dell would cost about 500Euro / 600$ and wouldn't be woth it
- They proposed to buy a new battery for 60Euro(!), to test it again. If it doesen't work, there will be no refund for the battery.

Does anybody has a solution / proposal for this issue? Otherwise it will definitely be my last Dell ...

You'll like HP once you get over the sticker shock pops.

grmmmbl... i would prefer a solution...
have all experts moved to newer models?

I actually realized something more: when the system is off and can't be turned on, it still consumes a lot of energy: the battery power is reduced almost like with power on...

Try downloading this. For some reason their website has wongly named updates and ROMs. http://support.euro.dell.com/uk/en/f...&fileid=R80976

You might need to update using this first. the first link is an actual ROM update. This should be the A01 patch. Then try the ROM update which should be A02. http://support.euro.dell.com/uk/en/f...&fileid=R71183
