Best legal way to change language
Hi. As many persons in here, i'm tryin to change the language of my Axim.
I've gived a try to the "3 buttons trick", but it messed up my Axim.

So i called the Dell custommer service about this topic.
How to change the fu*in language?
So, i got this reply. And of course, this new trick DO NOT help changing the whole ROM language, but do well change the orthographic dictionnary language.
For my case, it's aiming to get from English to French !

You have just to find and copy the "mssp2_fr.lex" file from the \Windows directory from a French Axim (mind you can find another language by switching "_fr." by "the-language-you-are-lookin'-for" and copy this from an Axim with the right language)
So, paste this file into \Windows directory, and now, you have to modify a key into the registry. You canna use
"PHM Registry Editor" from
(http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/ )
Open the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Spell Check"
and give the chain "Main_Dict" this new setting "\Windows\mssp2_fr.lex".
Then, do a soft-reset. It's done properly !

this tip helps a lot , since i'll be in the same situation , getting an US axim when i am french.
i don't mind the whole system being in english but the dictionary is a must have in your mother language.

you can find the proper language dictionary file in you desktop computer if you have word installed (doesn't works with office 2003 , maybe changing the name since it's not named the same way)
anyway you can find the dictionnary file of your pc on

c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\proof\

get the proper mssp2_**.lex

good luck jeanfrederic with your rom problem.

i tried it in fact withthe mssp2_fr.lex, i had the same problem since i have office 2003 but managed to get a hand on it , but it didn't work, I'm sure there is a way to do so with those files but i didn't try much.
If you still want to give it a try i'll upload the file.

Sorry for the very late reply .
