Recharging battery
Please excuse me if this seems like a dumb question but I just got off the phone with Dell Customer Support and told them how my Sync connector pins were damaged, and that I would like a resolution. Because my warranty ended in Jan 2005, they wont replace it.

Is there a way for me to recharge my X3 aside from using the sync cradle?

Thanks.

By not using the cradle?.....Yes.

By not using the Bottom Connection?.....No.

You need one of these (which was supplied with your X3...small and easily lost), and an AC Adapter. This is, providing, that the bent pins do not include any charging pins.

Or you could do a Full Back-Up, remove your Main Battery and put it in the slot at the rear of the Cradle. But in the length of time to do a full charge on your battery, it will most likely have drained your BUB, resulting in a Hard Reset.

Hence the Back-Up to restore from.

Yeah, but if you have a 2nd battery, one could be charging, while the other is in the unit. This is what I do- I very rarely set my unit in the cradle. The question is- how long will the back up battery last?

The Post read, to me, like he has only one battery.

The BUB will last for MAX 30 minutes when fully charged, but if he can't charge from the cradle, it won't ever get recharged. Everytime he takes the Main Batt out to charge in the spare slot, one battery or two, it's gonna do a Hard Reset. If he can find and use the little adapter, then he will be able to recharge both the Main and the BUB.

True enough- I was just wondering if a second batt was an option- I think you're right, though...it's not.

unplug the adapter from cradle and plug it directly to bottom of axim but if pins are still touching each other then your battery still might not charge but it worth a try
