Warranty expired and Axim 3 pins are bent -HELP!
I got my Axim 3 about a year and a half ago, so the warranty has expired. I used my spare charger (not the travel one, but the one that goes into the back of the cradle) for the first time three days ago. However, now, when I try to sync it in the cradle at work, it will not connect. Now the charger doesn't fit either.

I called Dell twice. The first person said I probably put the charger in the wrong way and bent the pins. I asked him what the right was (with the PDA picture face-up, or the Dell icon face-up). He said he did not know which way was correct, and that Dell had redesigned the charger because people were often bending their pins by putting the charger in the wrong way. He said my only recourse was to buy a refurbished model. I called sales and the refurbished model is $150 compared to $160 for a brand new one. I actually don't think this is a warranty issue, but a defective part issue. Has anyone else had any luck getting a PDA that was past it's warranty time frame replaced?

I got a new connector out of pdasmart.com. the connector has very small solder points, so if you don't have the right equipment do not try yourself. This site also install the connector for you with some adding in price of course.
The connector cost U$ 33 and with installation U$ 70.
I hope this help. They sell lots of thing there.

Go to ppctechs.com to get it repaired if you don't want to purchase a new one.

They will take care of you and you will be supporting an Aximsite advertiser.

Or if you live in the UK you might prefer not to send your unit off to the states. If so contact me at emma@sapphire2803.co.uk
We repair for £40 that includes all postage.

It's NOT possible to put the charge cable in to the X3 backwards, it doesn't fit. The connectors are keyed to prevent that happening.
