Sorry to say it, but it did not work for me. I tried it exactly as outlined above, and by that I mean word for word, process by process, and no joy. It would not connect, though it did see the nextwork and did seem to allow WPA as a setting, but came back with the message No Adapter installed.

I plan to do a clean install this weekend, full system clear down and install of the Odesey only and will then see if that works, but based on my discussions with Funk and my experience, I question that it will, even if the correspondent above seems to have it working on his system, similar or identical as this may seem/be.

I would love to be proved wrong, on my machine.

Hmm

It did not work for me either. I also would have loved to been proved wrong.

P.S.

I notice under DBMcG user name on his post. It staes Axim X3. It would definately work if he is using a stand alone sdio network card in the sd slot. Different hardware and drivers that might support WPA

Housemaster keep me posted on your investigative plans for this weekend.

On the basis that Funk themselves (the people who write the bloody software!) confirmed it would not work after installing the application on a Dell Axim X3i and trying it, married to the fact that Dell confirm the same thing, I always questioned the post from our correspondent above.

Taking nothing at face value however, and hence my first post at the start of this very thread, I went ahead and tried it for myself. I followed word for word the post above and it did not work on my X3i in WPA mode. Last night, I did a complete hard reset of my PDA and installed only the Odyssey client and nothing else and tried once more. I again followed the instructions above and again it did not work on my X3i in WPA mode. So then I spent roughly 2 hours trying everything under the sun, tweaking everything I could possibly think of and still at no time did I make a link using WPA, though simply it worked with WEP, and every time!

It seems that so far we have found one person who has it working, though we are unclear on which exact machine they have and based on the fact that no one else seems to be able to make it work, manufactueres included, I would suggest the said correspondent is lucky, magical or wrong. I call it as I see it and that's my assessment, after some quite extensive research too!

WPA on a standard X3i running 2003 does not work, end of discussion!

Just wanted to post here that I just got mine to work, after installing R69905.exe from Dell's site.

I'm using WPA/TKIP with a 64 byte key! Yes, I know it's not fun to type 64 hex keys on the screen, but it is secure.

Oh yeah, I'm using an Axim x3i with 802.11 (no bluetooth).

Hmm

This is what is listed for R69905:

R69905.EXE Device driver for the TrueMobile 1150 Wireless Mini-PCI Card Use on... Hard Drive Installation (via WinZip) with HTML Pop-Up Window for R69905.EXE Download 1.Click Download Now, to download the file. 2.When the File...

This a driver for a mini-pci 1150 wireless card for a notebook computer not the axim x3i.

Man this post was dead buried and gone from life. You will have better luck starting a new thread on this. Maybe someone can help you that way.
