Windows Media Player problems

I've just recently started loading music onto my Axim X-30 that has a 256 mb SD card. When I start WMP it loads and immediately starts looking for skins. During this searching for skins process sometimes I can play music and sometimes I can't. If the music should play I get no software screen to control playback (play, pause, stop, next, previous) on the screen of the Axim. I can only control music play through the hardware buttons.

I've tried downloading skins to transfer to the Axim but somehow I'm not doing it correctly.

Anyone no of any solutions to this problem?
Thanks for any help.

P.S. Is there anyway to reformat the SD card without having to buy or install a new utility?

Most people on this site. dont even try to solve wmp problems. They just use tcpmp. Its free. Search forums for it.

What a great recommendation! I like WMP for music, but for video's I would have to tweak them to a WMV file to get them to play... TCPMP plays everything with out any changes!!! Thanks!

I am having the same problem as mhbutler3. I also have Microsoft Voice Command, and I had been using it with wmp prior to a ROM upgrade. I actually prefer PocketMusic for playing mp3s, but the fact is that a program on the ROM is not working correctly and that is very upseting!
