Odyssey client

Hello,

greetings to the forum since this is my post.

I've read some of the post +faq, but there was nothing which helped:

If I try to enable my odyssey client, it says "adapter not present" and nothing else happens. I know that it worked someday. Furthermore I once tried a hard reset and it went back to normal for a very short time. However, I can't hard reset constantly my ppc. Has it something to do with installed programs?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Make sure that you have your Wifi enabled as well. Also check in the Settings to make sure that WiFi is "turned on". I have seen, sometimes, where the wifi is enabled adn for some reason not turned on. Can anyone shed some light on this?

WiFi is turned on by the hardware button and I guess due to the slow blinking green light working?

I have had this error in the past. I found the problem to be that the wireless card was not turned on. Don't turn it on using the button on the side of the device. Go into the WLAN utility and click turn on. Also uncheck "Disable WLAN to conserve power..." Another important thing is to make sure the WLAN utility does not connect to a wireless connection before Odyssey had its chance. Odyssey will be unable to find the card if it is in use by another program. "Enabling" Odyssey is supposed to prevent the WLAN Utility to connect but sometimes it does anyway.

Thanks, I think I'm a step further, because the odyssey client seems to work now. However, WLAN utility - version info tells me "card not available", in fact there is no connection data and I'm not able to edit my wireless profil. Enabling WLAN through the utility menu did not work.

It seems like you may have a hardware problem, especially if this is a recurring problem after a hard reset. I would contact dell. Sorry I cannot help you any more.

There's another update:

I read in some ohter forum, that the WLAN utility stops working, if another vpn software is installed. This could well be the case, I have movian VPN. But how is this possible?
