I just bought a Dell Axim X30 PDA, 312MHz processor.

I am very pleased with it and so far I have had one tricky problem.

I have a (MSI) router working smoothly but with one limitation.

There are now two of us in the house trying to use wireless connection to the internet.

As soon I try to use my wireless connection, Kim loses his. Not vice versa. Kim simply loses his connection as soon as I connect to the internet.

Kim depends on his wireless connection so I have to stick to my old hard-wired connections to the (same) router. So I don't really have a serious problem.

Can you figure out why I can use as many hardwired connections as I want to the router but only one wireless one?

I can understand this: the one 'nearer' to the router gets (steals?) the signal.
Is it possible to use different channels?

Gordon

Could be a 802.11b vs 802.11g issue

Here's a suggestion: try connecting both wireless units and and on a wired PC, look at the router settings. See if both are registering. You might try connecting one at a time and assigning each a static IP. Speaking of static IPs, another thought is that both units are trying to use or are already assigned the same IP. Changing one or the other should do the trick.
