Worried Back up Battery has failed

The power management software on my X30 says that my backup battery has failed.

How do I identify the type of backup battery I have and how do I replace it?

Thanks,

You will have to open the unit to get the battery model and get a replacement. You can also check PocketPCTech.com as they might have the battery information list for the Axim devices.

Icon13 $179.00 Dell battery

More:
Apparently Dell generously allows out of warranty Axim users to exchange their PDA for one with a new back-up battery!

This service costs $179.00!

Forget it. If I can't open it and replace the backup battery on my own, I'll be in the market for a new PDA.

Anyone know how to open one of these? I see no way in from the back. Maybe it's glued together?

If it is like the X5, you'll have to pull off the rubber feet on the back, screws under them should be the only screws to get the case off.
Good luck if you do this, post pictures and step by step instructions.
I like seeing the insides.

Opening the X30

There is a video at http://www.youtube.com/v/Fu6Nnwm3__I

I have used this video to open my X30 for a prior repair. Worked great. Now if I can figure out what kind of backup battery to get I'll try to replace mine.
