Question X30 LED light flashing green/amber, no battery power

I purchase a used X30 (312mHz, WIFI, BT) on ebay from a seller who claims it "worked perfectly" when he shipped it. It will not power up on battery. When on A/C, the power light flashes green & amber. After I finally got the unit to come up, it will operate when on the adapter, but always flashes the power light. The system menu battery indicator shows a fully charged backup battery, but the main battery will alternate back and forth to random charge settings (100%, 37%, 48%, etc.).

I've tried removing the main battery overnight, which discharged the backup. It charged back up completely over a 4 hour period on the adapter. Replacing the main battery with a new one yields same result. There is a bent pin (lowest one of the five) in the battery compartment, which is probably why the seller got rid of the thing in the first place.

I also have a functional X30 312mHz unit which does not have WIFI & Bluetooth. It has a cracked screen but operates correctly. Is there any way to use the motherboard from the lower model (which has perfectly good battery pins) in the higher unit, or can the battery pin connector be removed from the lower unit and replaced in the higher unit? I have access to precision solder techs, but need to know if this is really feasible.

Would the lower unit motherboard utilize the other boards for WIFI and Bluetooth from the higher unit, or would ROM software differences make this switch impossible?

Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

Unfortunately I'd say the lower unit cannot have all of the features of the higher unit. There are some options though. One option would be to use the screen from the high in place of the screen on the low. You woudln't have wireless or bt, but you'd have a working axim. The battery hardware should be at least very similar. I haven't had it open in a while and don't recall what the contacts look like, but with some good solderers (and de-solderers) you may be able to swap either the whole battery contact assembly or just the one contact. I'd bring it to one of your techs and have them take a look at both axims. They should be able to tell you if it's possible or not. Good luck.

Many thanks for your advice! I'm goin to try to fix this, although it will probably be cheaper and certainly faster to just buy another unit from a reputable seller.

I can't imagine that the fix should take too long. It can't be any worse than the flimsy OEM connectors, and I've (well, actually, a friend at work) replaced one of those and it just took 20 minutes or so. Having precision solderers that know what they're doing should make it fairly painless.
