LCD Screen Cracked Where do I find a replacement?

My screen just cracked on my Dell Axim X30. I am seeking a replacement. Is the LCD screen separate from the touch screen? If anyone knows of anyone who sales the LCD touch screens, please advise! I miss this thing! I reside in Houston, Tx. I already have the screen out an looking to fit a new one in.

Thank you

Michael

depending on the price, you may just want to cut your losses and upgrade.

YMMV

the touchscreen (digitizer) is separate. however, its very delicate.. even if it doesnt appear broken, if the LCD has taken enough pressure to break, it's likely the digitizer has been harmed as well.

I got one here
eBay: LQ035Q7DH04@Toshiba e400/e410/Dell Axim X3/X30 LCD Scrn (item 290092226521 end time Jul-06-07 20:28:46 PDT)

thats $85 and he'll have it to you in about 6 days. amazing really.

The LCD was perfect, but the digitizer he sent me wasnt very responsive on the side and bottom. He offered to replace it, even tho it was weeks after the sale when I noticed the issue. So... 1/2 the cost of a local replacement, but alittle more inconvienent to get service.

the PPCtechs service is great.. but that is the cost of whole 'nother unit. :( It makes the ebay/chinese/self replacement a much better value. For a x51v, that would be a different story, they are still worth 2x more than the cost to repair.

anyway, I've done a few replacements.. and you can easily separate the digitizer and it's metal frame. dont try to take the glass of the frame, you'll break it. the metal frames separate. super easy.

if you junk the unit, please PM me.

Well, I got the digitizer, All I need is the glass for it.

the touch screen will not work without the glass will it?

The lcd screen is in perfect working condition! The glass was what broke, anyone know where I can find a replacement?

I'm interested in your X30 if the other guy doesn't want it and you can post to the UK.

Let me know.

Thanks

Phil
