Metal connector to synch/charge is broken
Hi.
I have this ongoing problem with my Axim X30 since the old one got replaced during the warranty period (the old one had lines of dead pixels). But now this problem with the replacement has turned into worse.
The problem with the replacement Axim is that the metal connector at the bottom of the Axim, the one that you plug the synch/charge cable is loose. This metal keeps falling out whenever I charge the Axim. The ability to synch is long gone, and now it seems that there's not enough contact between this metal connector and the Axim body to be able to charge the battery. I delayed long enough on this problem when the original warranty expired. I just forgot about when the warranty expired.
Now, the problem is worse, because the connector is so badly broken and mangled that it won't even charge the battery on this Axim anymore. That leaves me with fully working Axim, but no way to charge the battery.
I'm hoping for a solution to help me, maybe:
1. There is a new piece of metal connector obtainable from Dell? Then, I can just pull out the loose connector and plug the new one in. As long as it allows the Axim to charge the battery, I'd be happy. Synch-ing can be done over the bluetooth connection.
2. A way (a stand-alone adapter?) to charge the battery outside the Axim. Thanks.
Hope someone can help me. I'll pay for the parts, of course.
