can't start the wretched thing

I thought maybe I would start using the axim X30 which has laid idle for 2 years but now it asks me to tap the screen to align it which I have been doing for three days. How long do I have to do this for. My elbow isi getting arthritis. There seems to be no driver with the cradle. How do I obtain one??

I knew there was a reason I stopped trying. Please help someone and thanks in advance

Two thoughts...

1 - do a hard reset and try again
2 - pull out the battery for an hour and try again

remove any screen Protectors - it could be to close to one edge of your screen, causing an input issue.

The screen alignment process is what always occurs following a hard reset and should last only a few taps if you are accuate. As twmiller suggested, try removing the screen protector if you have one installed. Otherwise, try getting someone else with better manual dexterity to try. Unfortunately, there is no way of getting around this to start up the device.

There is no driver required for the cradle per se, but you should have ActiveSync installed in order to sync to your desktop computer.
