Is your battery latch closed correctly. Even if you put everything in right, the axim will refuse to turn on until the latch is closed correctly.

Now there's a thread here, and there is some stuff in it about over tightening the screws when you reassemble. It's a long thread though!
If and when, why can't we pray?

Yep. It took me a long time to realize that the screws were too tight. All ya have to do to check is loosen them.

A replacement backup battery??? I got a deal for two Axim 30's and they both have an indicator that says backup battery is low. I read that you have to let the unit charge without the battery in for the backup to charge.

Is that true??? And how long does it take to charge???

Nope the backup battery will charge at the same time as the other one. If the indicator shows low there is good chances that the backup battery is on its last leg. After all there is a maximum number of time it can be charge and will eventually degrade.

I'm joining this discussion a few months too late, but I am also having the same message, that the back up battery needs charging even after the unit has been on charge (with the main batery installed). Can the back up battery be changed?
