Suddenly Some Files Are Clobbered?

I started using a 4gb SD Card, downloaded some audio files, and mp3 files. All was fine for a couple of days, and suddenly those files are now unusable and contain strange/foreign characters. Other files on the SD card are fine. Can someone provide an explanation for this phenomenon? This never happened on a 2gb SD Card?
Thanks. DrG.

I have had similar situations where some games can no longer be played since something went haywire. it can be due to when you insert/uninsert the SD Card you may end up hurting some data. I am not preticularly sure but reinstalling the program solves it

From what I remember reading through Aximsite and other sites, 4GB SD (non-SDHC) cards are a hit-miss proposition. The official SD spec seems to have only went up to 2GB, so anything beyond that doesn't seem to be well supported (or is just poorly made). Case in point, reviews on a 4GB SD card:

Newegg.com - Transcend 4GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model TS4GSDC - Retail

It may be just that particular manufacturer or item that has the problem, but somehow I am guessing not.
