Aximsitex3icon Wont turn on

My friend recently gave me his old X30 that he didnt use anymore, it was working but he said its been having trouble charging.
When i recieved it i noticed all the pins on the charger insert ond the pda were bent, weve strightened them out a bit and the orange light comes on and then turns to green later. However, when i try to turn it on nothing happens at all. Have tried with it plugged in and after a charge but not plugged in.

Could there be a problem with the charging due to the pins, even though the light comes on?
or could the battery need replacing.

im not sure that its the PDA itself thats broken as it was working the day before i got it

Welcome to the site!

Are you using the cradle? If so, try removing the battery and charging it in the back slot of the cradle. Once it's fully charged, try it in your device. If it works, then you know it's probably the pins on the charger portion and/or the device. If it doesn't, it might be the battery.

Also, the act of removing the main battery will cause your device to do a hard reset. This in essence brings your device back to factory state. Often, that will bring it back to life.

I have tried removing the battery and uptting it back in, and sadly i do not have a cradle :( just a dell charger with an adapter on the end.

would anywhere be able to fix the pins do you think? getting a battery shouldnt be too much trouble though.

thanks for the reply

PDA repairs can be done by:

Pocket PC Techs - Durable Screen Protector, Retractable Cable, Power Adapter Accessories, PDA Repairs, TouchScreen Repairs, LCD Repairs, RAM Upgrades, Memory Upgrades, Battery Upgrades for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Pocket PC Phone, Smartphone, Palm

PDASmart- PDA, Ipaq, PSP, iPod, iPhone Repair Parts and Modifications Specialists

Both are considered reputable companies, although shipping it over there (to the US) may be a bit far for you. If you can get a battery for cheap, I'd try that first.
