I suspect it has to do with the router settings. In particular make sure it is operating in mixed mode (B+G) or B-only and that it is set to allow another device to connect (that is, that it has a broad enough range of IPs and if you have MAC filtering enabled that the Axim's MAC is properly entered).

Look at the Check these first part of the Troubleshooting section of the WiFi Guide for more possibilities.

Hi Ike, i canīt make connection. i made your changes, and failed too. i can see the net, when i tap connect, appear connecting an then see the net avaible again, but no connect.

My router is B+G enable, the model is Linksys WRT54G and the transmission is in 6-2437ghz, i can change it. Thanks a lot, Heber.

Did you disable Powersave in the WLAN (under Tools, Power Management)?

There is also a registry hack described in the Troubleshooting section of the WiFi Guide that has helped some users with this failure to make a connection. Be careful in messing in the registry - make a backup of your device before making any changes.

I had a problem almost like this with my linksys router(using WPA encryption). My Axim x50v would connect for a little while and I was able to get online with it, but sometimes (almost random it would seem) the connection would drop even though the signal was still good and connected. Updated the firmware in both the PDA(WM2003, IIRC ROM ver. A05) and later on the router and havent had a problem since.
