Charged - Does not turn on
A couple of months ago I had to replace my battery. The new battery was one of the large extended types and would no longer fit into my aluminum case.
During the first week, everything was great. The charge lasted longer.
By the second week, I noticed that it was holding less and when I turned it on, I was seeing applications that I never ran. There are a few problems with this:
1. I always close all applications before I turn off my unit.
2. I have a password program that locks it when not in use to prevent it from accidentally being turned on.
Approximately four days ago, my unit wouldn't turn on. I charged it completely. It still wouldn't turn on.
When I contacted Dell, I was told the only thing I could do is replace the battery. The support staff informed me that Dell did not have authorized service centers nor could I send my Axim 30 to Dell for repair. Both technician and supervisor informed me that since my warranty was out of date, all I could do is buy another one.
I have had my machine for over three years and never had any problems until now. There are a number of applications that I depend on both at work and at home. I can't believe that Dell does not service what they sell..
Is there anybody out there that can repair? I can not buy another one. It was a present. The prices listed on froogle.google.com are prohibitive.
If anyone has any viable suggestions, please email me.
Any help would be appreciated.
