Welcome to the site!

Have you tried a soft reset? If that doesn't work, you can try a hard reset by removing the main battery (and forcing the hard reset). Keep in mind that this will erase your installed programs and data, but at least you can start fresh.

I have the same problem. It goes into the alignment page and passes the first request to touch the screen but nothing happens. I have tried the reset button in the back, removing the battery and downloading the latest upgrade (which did nothing as it stated I am already up to date). All to no avail. I suspect the Flash needs to be reloaded but am not sure. Any ideas as to what is next?

A couple of the more common reasons for alignment not working are

a screen protector on too tight or catching on the edge of the display.

dirt and junk stuck in the tiny gap around the screen, use a business card or similar to clean around the edge.

Check that the face of the axim isn't bent or dented causing the edge to touch the screen.

I have no screen cover so that isn't it. I tried cleaning the sides as suggested but to no avail. If I reset the Axim with the reset button on the back, the reboot process asks to touch the screen in any position to start the alignment process. The first alignment touch works. The second one doesn't. So after rebooting I touched the screen in the approximate location of the second touch and that gets the alignment process started. I really doubt this is a problem with the touch screen but rather the alignment software is hanging up. Is there a way to reload this portion of the software?

There are quite a few threads about this issue and you may find an answer among them. There is no One correct answer.

If you use the advanced search button and type in the key words Screen Alignment and select search thread titles only you should get about 50 threads.
Somewhere in that lot you might find the correct answer for your problem.

Personally I think it generally Hardware and not software related.
