Up until last week I could sync from my laptop, now, I get the USB Device Not Connected, and Active Sync isn't triggered. But, it will sync on my desktop with no problems. All my programs are on my laptop and not on my desktop. Help would be appreciated. Thanks. DrG.

I'd check all the usual suspects:

• Check the USB port by switching to an alternative and eschewing a USB hub
• Check your firewall (you do have one ;)) settings to makes sure that any recent updates haven't changed your allowed programs
• Check the connection blocks on the Axim and the cradle/chord looking for damage or bent pins (also check the chord for damage)
• Make sure that you have all the latest MS patches (including any necessary voluntary ones)
• Check that your laptop has enough memory (both hdd and RAM) - insufficient memory is an AS killer
• Check your laptop manufacturer for any BIOS updates (this solved several problems on my DELL)
• Try a soft reset
• Backup and try a hard reset
• Try upgrading to a later (or earlier) version of AS

I'm sure that there are some I've missed and the troops will come to our aide :)

it was the USB hub, eliminated the hub per your recommendation, and problem solved.
Something with Microsoft must have changed? Thanks again. DrG.

The data has to be transferred through the hub, creating an array of problems.
