Hello: I have a Dell Axim x30 and a Gateway M505 laptop computer, with an IR port in the front. I would like to transfer pictures from my Dell to the computer. I tried using the Dell's BEAM to locate my Gateway's IR but the BEAM cannot find the IR device. Is there a step that I am omitting? The bluetooth works because I can transfer files from my DELL to my cell phone...Gateway says that all I have to do is line the pda to point at the IR port and follow the instructions on the pda...

Try this:

On the Axim, tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Beam icon > make sure "Receive all incoming beams" is enabled (place a checkmark in the box)
