Video problems *SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED*

Hope someone can diagnose a problem we're having with an X30 high. My sister has an x30 which she accidentally dropped. The screen is fine with no cracks. The exterior of the case is also fine.

The center of the D-Button pad takes a firm push (don't know if it's related to the fall).

Music plays fine and programs run as normal. The problems is playing videos with TCPMP or Coreplayer is very choppy. It lags and sometimes freezes but the sound is fine. She also has the battery meter (the little lines at the top of the screen) initiated and it doesn't show all the bars. However, when anything else is graphically rendered where the battery lines are located the images are fine.

So I don't know where to start?

Should I take the axim apart and check the cable to the LCD? Or maybe it's the digitizer that needs a proper reseating?

Any ideas guys?

With those videos, put them through Windows Media Player. Then sync your Axim and then transfer those files over via WMP. WMP automatically converts them into a mobile-friendly size and bitrate. So that may be worth a try.

Just to clarify, have the video problems only arisen since the drop?

Did it play properly before or you don't know because these are new videos?

Assuming it's since the drop, my first reaction would be,
Have you tried a soft reset? Pretty sure you have.
Try a Hard reset before you start opening things up.

@john_hu

I don't think it's the avi files. The beauty of the Coreplayer and TCPMP is that it has a wondrous decoder. Things will play pretty much seamlessly- even the avi files that are 500mb 480P rips of television programs. These will work on the X30 and the X51v. We even found a way to use subtitles on the TCPMP player for our Korean Dramas. So I don't think it's the video codecs b/c they worked fine before the drop.

@Box

Doing a soft-reset is one of the first things I did. I just got back from midterms not that long ago so I haven't had time to tinker much with it. Before I do something as extreme as taking it apart I'm going to do a hard reset. I also have to scour my sisters cards for any backups she might have made (she better have made one or two at least!!!).

I'll keep you all updated on this.

Okay. I got the indestructible X30 to show AVI files flawlessly again :)

I had to do a hard reset for it. Unfortunately no backup was saved so I'm piecing together what programs she had on it.

It's okay tho. Some of the programs she had were the older versions and due for an update!

Thanks for the suggestions guys!
