Worried a02 ROM update and now two WIFI management programs running

I have a question about the new update and the odyssey program that is installed. I have had the share of problems with WIFi connections over the last little while. Nothing too serious just annoyances, like having to cycle the wifi to get an ip address from any dhcp router. Like everyone else I was excited to upgrade in hopes that the wifi issues would be cleaned up. I now have two prorgrams that tend to battle each other. Is this so? What purpose does Odyssey serve? Is it a replacement for Dell's wifi connection utility. I restored the backup that I had saved before upgrading. I am wondering if the new ROM comes without Dells wifi utility. Anyway any insight into these programs would be of great help. I have an x30 high.

It is recommended that you don't restore your backup once updating rom. It seems Odyssey controls the builtin dell utility. If odyssey connects to something then the dell utility will show you connected to it. Odyssey seems to connect more and faster to APs.

If I then use active sync to refresh my data, there will be many problems that I can forsee and not forsee. Is there any way to keep any of the progs without a full backup?

It is mandatory you don't restore your programs but reinstall them, as many people here have problems when they restored.

I ran the A02 update program and then restored my data and apps as the Dell instructions said.
The only problem I found was that the Odyssey Client was not working.
You can either create a new subdirectory "Program Files\Funk Software\Odyssey Client" then copy the ODClient.exe file to the new directory and the link in the Settings\System will then work, or, create a new link in Programs to the ODClient.exe file in the Windows directory and ignore the Setting\System link. I probably do not need this utility anyway.
I have not seen any other problems after restoring my backup per the Dell instructions.

If Dell's ROM upgrade procedures call for a restore folllowing the upgrade why all the persistent comments about the fact this 'is bad'. Why? Lot's of inuendos but no facts forthcoming.

I followed what the postings have said, and Odyssey worked in tandem with Dells wireless utility. Like I said in the previous post, the first time that I restored my backup, it didn't work. I am not sure why there are problems with restoration, I only know that it works. In fact it works much better.
