I have a mid-range X30 and can connect to Comcast only while the unit is in it's cradle. My connection screen shows an exellent connection while out of the cradle, but I cannot get on the internet. I have a wireless network set-up at home and my laptop and other computers stay connected but I cannot get the x30 to do anything out of the cradle. I do not understand why I can have an exellent connection showing but still can't get on the internet? Does anyone have any suggestions?

The wireless powersave feature on the X30 seems to cause some of these problems. A moderator at AximSite, Silentknight, has written a small application that helps turn off this feature and can be found here .

disable WEP, enable SSID broadcast on your router before checking these options

Start | Settings |Connections | Connections | Advanced | Select networks
choose My Work Network | Edit | Proxy settings
put check in This network connects to the Internet

Start | Settings |Connections | Network cards
Wireless tab - click on your SSID
General tab - Connects to: Work
Network key tab - Data Encryption: disable
802.1x tab - Use IEEE 802.1x - remove check

Start | Settings |Connections | Network cards
Network adapters tab - My network card connects to: Work
choose Dell WLAN Driver

Sorry for being a new guy but how do you install that application that Silentknight made. Do I drag it on to a memory card?

Edit: Hmm got the program to install but the wireless still doesn't work. Is there an article on this subject?
