I recommend using an overclocking utility an underclocking it to 100 MHz. This is what I do when I turn my Axim off. The battery barely drains when I have it set @ 100 MHz. Its worth a shot. BTW, I have an X3i, and my battery life is terrible. It's just because the unit is slim and the battery is small. I have the 1800 extended batt, which really helps. It is just a fact of life. I can only imagine having an X30 running @ 624!!

I'm using the battery that come with Axim High. Set to power save mode and dimmest screen, I can only make out about 1 hr 30 mins listening to MP3 with headphone. Is that too short compared to others?

First, excuse me about my bad English, Iīm spanish.
I had the same problem, "my battery drains even when turned off" the problem is in the software installed. After a hard reset the problem is history.

When you have the problem: The axim isnīt in charging mode, have 20% of capacity or less, you turn off the axim and the red light of the button is on in suspend mode.
When you havenīt the problem: The axim isnīt in charging mode, have 20% of capacity or less, you turn off the axim and the red light of the button is off in suspend mode.

And the battery drains even when turned off.

One program installed is the problem.
Find that program or do a hard reset.

I've only had my axim a few days, but I get around 3 1/2 hours playing music in my car (Max Volume). I use GSplayer, and I have set a button to turn the screen on/off. It works well for me.

Watch out for self updating sofware that used internet. Under normal circonstance, my battery is about 70% at the end of the day. But I installed a weather software (don't remember wich one) using default setting and find my battery dead well before the day end. I recharge the battery and find out that the software turn the Axim on when trying to update and keep it on even if the Axim is set to turn off after 3min of inactivity. I think the software was trying to connect to the internet even if radio is disable over and over and drain the battery. Setting the software to update only 1 time in the night, when the Axim should be plug solve my problem.

Good tip. It would be nice if you could start a new thread with this suggestion so it could be made sticky. :approve: I am sure others will run into this problem as well.

For a 45 minute drive into work, my axim's battery droped to 92%. The thing I am going to check on this is the wireless. I have noticed my wireless antenna (Green light) flash a few times while it was off. My guess is that's what is causing the power drain, so I will test that theory later tonight.

Well, after taking it off my cradle yesterday afternoon, using it for a while last night, and not charging it until work again today, it only drained to 58% full. Wireless was turned off when the Axim was off.

Got a similar problem. It usualy happens when the battery gets to 19% and the wireless is shuting down, and when I plug it to the PC to charge the battery it seems like it dropped to 1%. Then I get to the power meter to watch the battery status, suspend the device, turn it on and it will go back to 20%.

is it possible that your battery can go dry if the pda is off - if you leave it off overnight.. i'm afraid to leave it off overnight - i never tried it - i usually have mine on the cradle when i don't use it ><

Have mine set to auto last night. I got the battery to 100%,left WIFI enabled and shut it off. Got up this morning and turned it on and it was still at 100%. I'll try it at MAX tonight.

important?

Just got my pda and its charging now. I was going to take it out of the cradle since the power led is green. However, since i was told to leave it for 8 hours. Its still there. My questions is what would happen if i don't charge it for 8 hours initially? Would that damage my power life???
